All of the big questions have been asked, so...
This is more of a specific question. I purchased this coin recently already PCGS graded on eBay...I like it, think it is accurately graded, and I would like to keep it in PCGS plastic, but it appears to be covered in green PVC residue...I'm sure this is a rare occurence, and I'm not sure how this could have made it into a holder without being bodybagged. Can it be returned to PCGS for PVC removal and reholdering under your guarantee?

David, Is PCGS considering offering the Tri-View gasket in the holders?
I have bust halfs and $10 gold (stars on edge). I think that the whole coin shold be visible. The bust halves have edge errors and should be attributed also. I as a new comer to these halves would pay a fee for them to be in Tri View holders.
Maybe PCGS can offer the Tri View as an option?
After all ther are 3 sides to a coin. I look at coins as art. The $10 gold is my favotite and would love to show off these coins and teach my nephews about each series of coins.
With modern coins can you help me understand what makes a 70 and what makes a 69? I know if I can find a small tick on the rim or a small mark on the field these would get knocked down a point to 69. What I can't figure out is when a coin seems flawless, and no matter how hard I look I can't find anything that would keep the coin out of 70 holders. I submitted three $5.00 2006-W Eagles in which I received as a group from the mint all three coins look identical two went 70 and one went 69. What else can I look for to find what could be holding the coins down a point.

Dating the certs creates two and three teir markets and causes confusion. It one of things dealers and collectors didn't want us to do when we first started PCGS.
We still feel the same and have no plans to change our policy.
I hope you continue expanding the variety attribution aspect. I know it's hard, and it's a lot of time as well. But go ahead and charge more. Your brand makes varieties more valuable in the marketplace from my observation, and there is an enormous opportunity with ANACS dropping the ball in terms of poor attribution, no attribution even when the submitter provides the correct info, and of course that crappy looking new slab

One thing I didn't put on my questionnaire response came up more recently. With people gassing coins in slabs to make them tone, would it make sense to make the label also react to this gassing? This would discourage such tampering and also provide the end customer with an indicator that his storage methods might not be all that good.

When will the new IKE dollar varieties start getting recognized by PCGS? Specifically, the RDV-006 variety also known as the Friendly Eagle Pattern and the 1971-S 40% Silver Business strike Pegleg?
There are also multiple DDO and DDR coins for the RDV-006 which would be equally nice to see.
ANACS currently attributes and recognizes these unique varieties and it would be nice if PCGS did so as well.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

milk spots on ASEs
copper spots on gold
White spots on 1950-1964 silver proofs
carbon spots on Lincolns and Indian cents
Basically, spots are an eye appeal negative and grading points should be deducted. Our official guidelines to this somewhat complex issue will be coming soon
Mr. Hall...I have always been curious how PCGS can get a fair look at a coin to be crossed over in another slab...especially if the slab is older and/or has lots of abrasions. It is sometimes difficult to see the coin in this situation....what goes into making the final decision to cross? Thanks for any information!
hrh, How about enacting a no minimum policy on crossovers. I have been hanging on to one coin that I want for my eventual PCGS Barber Half Date Set but it's in the wrong pajamas.

Hi David, I also want to say thanks for taking the time to answer questions. That's Customer Service at it's best. I'm the third person, so far, who really, really, really, wants PCGS to keep the TruView Service!! It's a fantastic asset to collectors such as myself. I have 15 Lincoln Cents on the way right now; CC Sub #9078935, where I requested Reholder/TruView Service. I hope this can be done.

David, I want to thank you for answering our questions and also for providing such a great Forum as the PCGS message boards are. Also, I want to thank PCGS for slabbing so many different varieties. My question is this: It is always difficult to find the PCGS coin numbers for the various varieties. Is there a way to put the PCGS varieties numbers somewhere that's easier to find?

One more Question. If we are paying for a coin to be Graded why do we get it back in a body bag when it has a rim ding or lightly clean should it or can it be holdered with no grad with the reason on the holder but will be authenticed to be real. And Thank You for answering all of are Questions.
Cast another vote for continuing TruView. Phil is great at what he does. TruView also provides a way for me to enjoy my collection while locked away in a SDB.

Mr. Hall, I've politely asked the Q & A Forum this question with no response given and so would you kindly answer these simple questions? Why did Pcgs label these 2005 Eagles, both gold and silver, as 20th anniversary coins? What are the pops? Thank you!
1 more one more question - I sent a crossover submission of standard silver patterns (about 7 coins, all r-5 and up, all high grade) - some had min grades listed, others did not. I got answers as to why the coins that did not cross were sent back....however, 1 coin was sent back with no indication why it wouldn't cross, and I had NO minimum grade listed ....$40 spent and no pcgs slab or opinion.
Don't you know that it's worth every treasure on Earth to be young at heart? And as rich as you are, it's much better by far, to be young at heart!
I certainly appreciate what I'm learning and continue to learn after many years away from collecting. I know of nowhere else I could have learned to much about coins and imaging them in a 6 month time frame. I don't think that for most of us, the "competitor" is, in any way, near that. I have no intention of ever using them or purchasing a slab with one of their stickers, since that will probably inflate the price. I would much rather rely on what I'm learning to help me pick out the quality coins. It's part of the fun of the hobby.
Since you're working on the price guides, can you tell me where I can buy an 1853 No Arrows Seated Quarter in Good for $300? Or one in Fine at $600? These prices are so low they're silly.

Our MS/PR70 standard, as published in the PCGS Grading Guide is...
No imperfections under 5 power magnification.
We look with a 5 power glass, and if we don't see ant flaws, we call it a 70.

My understanding is that HRH was talking about milk spots on ASEs, not spots on gold coins.
