Mostly worse because you blow it up to the size of a dinner plate. Which in turn blows up every nick, bump, scrape, gouge, etc. to more than life size.

I say worse. I look at coins that I think are great and then I look at my pictures which come out large and they look hacked up. It is all due to magnification.

Large images that are clear and accurate will make the coin look much more ticked up and usually a grade lower than they actually look in-hand.
Think about this. Does a coin usually look cleaner or more marked up under a loupe than without magnification?
