An annoying eBay bidder

eBay bidder "lovesrolls" won an auction of mine. He paid a few days later by PayPal. I sent the coin that day. Recently I received notice of a PayPal dispute. Sheesh, where was the email from the bidder to me? I replied by email and by the PayPal system. Still no response. Finally, today, PayPal notifies me the dispute has been escalated to a claim.
This is the first time in thousands of transactions I am going through an indirect complaint. I would much prefer to work things out directly. Oh, well, some people just need to be difficult. His address is "Mint Sets" at a PO box in Charlotte, NC. I can't even put a name on the deal. Needless to say I've added "lovesrolls" to my blocked bidder list...

I guess not. I'm assuming he is honest and didn't get the package.
I did not have delivery confirmation on that one. I will have tracking on all future packages. I do have my receipt from the USPS. All that proves is that I mailed something to the same Charlotte Zip Code on 9/20 which doesn't seem to help me with my PayPal dispute.
When this has happened in the past I send a claim form to the "winner", they sign it (which states they never recieved the coin) and I refund the money. The claim form documents my loss for tax and insurance purposes. This is the first time someone went directly to a PayPal dispute without writing me first.
Re: blocking bidders -- when I go to "My eBay" there is a link near the upper right of the page labeled "site map". I click that and there is a section "selling activities". An item under that list is "Block Bidder/Buyer List". Clicking that leads you to a form where you can list bidders you want to block.
If I had USPS insurance I could file a claim with them, they could also track the package to see if it was signed for. But I don't use USPS insurance on coins under $100.
Sorry about your loss, Carl. It takes a thief in the food chain to ruin it for so many.

I felt bad but now after sharing the experience with you all I feel better.
The loss is small. I set something aside from each transaction for cases like this. I get so few of these problems I still have some dough left in my insurance fund. It is just aggravating to be ignored.
I will bet that he saw that it didn't arrive with Delivery Confirmation and decided to get it free.
I blocked him. Thanks for the heads-up.
I have had a couple coins arrive without proper Paypal confirmation so I sent seller an email and let them know the risk they were taking.

Without delivery confirmation below $250, and signature confirmation above $250 - yes. The signature from insurance does not meet PayPal requirements for seller protection.

Yep, since per PP's rule it must be trackable online since they can't or won't have smoeone get up off of their fat lazy asses and go to a PO and get the info. Then again one shud know their rules. Sad thing is that yer unnecessarily payin double for the same service.
If it wasn't for this forum I would not know about the Paypal requirements.
I never took time to read through thier policy.
I believe many sellers are the same way until they get burned once.

I print the shipping label on ordinary cheap 8X11 stock, cut it to size (the label is printed on one end and a receipt of sorts on the other end). For tax purposes I print out two copies of paypals shipping invoice, one goes with the package, the other I staple to the shipping receipt and that goes into the shoe box, month by month.

People, if you're going to use PayPal & you want them in your corners, ya gotta play by their rules.
Print your own labels using PayPal shipping, right onto regular typing paper, cut to fit and tape over completely with strong but very transparent 3M or Scotch Brand Clear shipping tape. Use Delivery Confirmation on ALL transactions and if over $250 you MUST then go to Signature Confirmation.
That's all there is to it.

Yes. I bought an electronic postage scale that goes up to 35 lbs. Wasn't too expensive.
The Paypal shipping labels are great and make selling life so easy.

Just this afternoon I had a guy pay me three times with PayPal. He could not understand that a buyer with ZERO Feedback and new on Ebay atleast needed to be confirmed. Finally he said he would send a Money order. Another one bought a 75 buck item that was Local Pick Up Only. Do you think he will drive the 1500 miles to my place to get it?

I will say this about TwoSides2aCoin he does spend the money on shipping, I was surprised to get a 17 dollar item with signature confirmation, didn't mind it just surprised.
