Did anyone else notice that the Spouse coins are $10 and the other 1/2oz Coins are $25?

I noticed this tonight. Regular 1/2 oz gold coins are $25 coins yet the first spouse are $10 coins, which hold to the denom of the day for the weight. Thoughts?

Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005

To require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint coins in commemoration of each of the Nation's past Presidents and their spouses, respectively, to improve circulation of the $1 coin, to create a new bullion coin, and for other purposes.
and is very specific
SEC. 103. FIRST SPOUSE BULLION COIN PROGRAM.
Section 5112 of title 31, United States Code, as amended by section 102, is amended by adding at the end the following:
`(o) First Spouse Bullion Coin Program-
`(1) IN GENERAL- During the same period described in subsection (n), the Secretary shall issue bullion coins under this subsection that are emblematic of the spouse of each such President.
And Congress, not the Mint, designated the denomination
(C) DESIGNATED DENOMINATION- Each coin issued under this subsection shall bear, on the reverse, an inscription of the nominal denomination of the coin which shall be `$10'.
The Mint just did what it was told by the political body; there is no reason to expect either logic or consistency.

Yep, and the 1/10th oz should be $6.25.

Check your math. The 1/10 oz AGE should be $5 since the 1 oz AGE is $50.

1/2 ounce Commems are $10.00 denomination.
No big deal ...look through your redbook and you will see the light.
1/4 ounce commems are $5.00 while 1/4 ounce AGE's are $10.00
It's really not that hard to understand.
maybe the govt wishes our money really had value and this is their
way of touching back into history to feel good about themselves.
a half ounce of gold should have a face value of, oh, lets say 250-400?
pointless to keep putting such low denominations on gold coins except
to feel good about themselves and sticking with past examples.

You are absolutely correct Sir... 1/4 oz modern commems have always been $5 & ...... 1/2 oz $10 oz commems... ( Just like the classic half eagle, eagle & double eagle gold coins....$10 eagle was 1/2 oz & half eagle $5 ... The Mint has not issued any modern double eagle commems.)
