Does the US mint Understand time zones?

Just a little bit of info from a down home Kentucky boy. I ordered a set of the new gold ladies from here in Kentucky, eastern time (daylight savings). My order was placed to the US mint, central time. Well, as y'all can figure that means when it was 12:00 noon here, it was 11:00 a.m. there. I placed a call to the mint to try to learn why I had been in process but they then changed it to "on hold." The girl at the mint told me that my order had been put on hold because my order had not been placed until an hour, 26 minutes, and 29 seconds into the sale. I tried to convince her that was not true, that my order was placed 26 minutes and 29 seconds into the sale. She could not understand that my 12 noon was her 11 o'clock. I tried everything this good ole Kentucky boy could to make her understand the difference in time zones, but it was no use. Luckily, that sweet little gold lady arrived today, so it must have been just those little itty bitty 26 minutes and 29 seconds into the sale like I thought. Sure hope some of the rest of you don't have to convince someone your order was placed on time!

    The U S Mint is in the eastern time zone............

    12:00 there is 11:00 in Chicago ( central time zone )

    Depending on what part of Kentucky you are located in...but most of KY is Eastern Standard Time...same as the US Mint....12 noon in Eastern Ky is 12 noon in Phily....

    The western part of KY is in the Central Time zone........so that when it is 12noon at the MINT (Phily) it is 11am in Western Ky..

    Well, I guess I just did not make myself clear. She tried to convince me that my order was not placed until an hour 26 minutes and 29 seconds into the sale as the sale started at 11:00 a.m. which was my 12 noon. No matter how you look at this, no matter which time zone you are in, my order was placed 26 minutes and 29 seconds into the sale. Her take on this was that perhaps my order was placed after they had sold out. I could never make her understand that it was only 26 minutes 29 seconds and not one hour 26 minutes and 29 seconds.

    When it's noon in the central time zone, it's 1 PM in the eastern time zone, not 11. You should have started trying at 11:00 AM Central time if you wanted to get in at the start.

    Do you live in eastern KY , or western ?

    The sale started at 12:00 eastern time , which could only be earlier in any other time zone
    in the continental U S .

    If you live in eastern KY , then the sale started at 12:00 your time...........
    If you live in western KY , then the sale started at 11:00 your time..........

    The lady at the mint told me that she was in central time and that the sale began at 11:00am. I told her that her 11 is my 12 and that is why I completed my order at 12:26 which is 26 min. into the sale. She said that is not correct as the First Spouse coins went on sale at 11:00 and my order was placed 1 hr 26 min and 29 sec into the sale. At this point I decided it was time to concede as she just could not understand that no matter what time zone you are in, my order was placed 26 minutes and 29 seconds into the sale. Duh, that means that had I been in California, she would have thought my order was placed three hours . . . into the sale, and no matter how you look at it guys, 26 minutes is 26 minutes.

    Not trying to be argumentative , what was your order number ?

    My first order went in at 11:27 am central time , which is 27 minutes into the sale .
    The Mint is in the eastern time zone which means it was 12:27 there . ( sale started 12:00 eastern time).

    Well kyboy, you just keep drinking your 'shine and thinking you make the rules for the mint. The rest of us will go on understanding life and how things are done and getting our orders image

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    FYI...The US Mint is on: Eastern Daylight Savings Time right now...
