I agree - they are listing it incorrectly as a coin so the buyer will be able to return it...hopefully for him!

  • I sent them an email earlier on this. I asked "3 1/2 what?" My 1st thought was a refrigerator magnet.

If it was the right size for a double eagle, the rims and relief would be wrong anyway...

A large circular object to put your drink on to protect the fine wood of your expensive furnature.

That was probably someone's tax write off
... and an expensive coaster image
  • It couldn't be real gold anyway-- only a dip in something like aqua regia would do that to it if it was a real double eagle.

Yup, someone has just been "had"! image

Edit to add: I predict a return, followed by the seller claiming "no return", followed by a lawsuit,. . .

  • I'm hoping the last bid was to cover everybody's butts. It went from $755 to over $2K near the end. I thought
about putting in a $5K bid. I emailed the store while the auction was going on but never heard back from them.

I think it is a superb idea to let the individual stores auction items to help the cause, but, we just saw a big downfall
when a seller really doesn't know a thing about coins.
