  • I thought it was interesting that the TJ Uncs show a ship date of 9-24-07 on the US Mint webpage.

If the medals are any of indication of what the gold will be like- they will be great looking coins.

I have 10 at NGC in QC now. Should get grades soon.

I hope I get my gold tomorrow. Most likely Monday though. I hate waiting.

Do they grade these? I saw them on coin vault as BU's. Please post the grades when you get them please. Be interesting how these grade out.

My order status indicates IN STOCK AND RESERVED. Previously it was expected Ship date 9/24/2007. I'll post my pix Monday if that's the case.

    Yes I will do that.

I sent in 5 each of the MW and AA, 3 MW bodybagged for residue 1 67 and 1 66
The AA were 4 66's and 1 67 with a nasty spot on it.

I have seen a few 67's on eBay but no 68's

I kept the 67 MW and a 66 AA and sold the others.

The TJ's look much better. I hope for one 68.

image First impressionsimage...The proof is excellent, a keeper. The only "problem" is lady liberty a little small for coin, relief a little flat, and lacking some hair detail. The unc. nice. A little dull, under 3x mag. relief some pock-marked surfaces but in hand not noticed. Far and away nicer than the first two spouse coins.

    The Proofs are stunning!!
  • Alls I can say is stunning...................

It appears all will be shipped by 9/24 , I don't see how "First Strike" will make
a difference , as they will all be "First Strike" ..............

    I LOVE GOLD !

You have 30 days from today or if you keep your box unopened with a shipping date prior to 10/21 to qualify for 1st strike....That's how it was handled for the MW & AA coins....

  • I love the brilliance of the proof. Nice coins, but the box smells 'funny'. I say it smells like oil but the wife says it smells like polish (the rouge, not the nationality{Polish}). First strike doesn't make a difference to me, but do you think it will make a difference in resale value?

I'll go against the grain here. In the long run a think orginial sets will bring more, it may take 10 to 20 years. I was amased when the orginial packing of those early proofs collected by the grand father were display here earlier in the year. The packiing adds to this coin IMO and it's not just a generic TPG slab which are boring.

Though you may be going against the grain(here) so to speak, I think you are absolutely right, If the coin is in the same condition as a slabbed coin how could it NOT be worth more in original packaging to a collector down the road. I grant you that right off the bat a 70 will bring more, but 69s will be worth less even at the start.

    of course...... imho

That's the smell of money !! image

The Gold Anniversary Set smelled that way and the First two spouses. I'm learning to love it.

  • Timber100 Sorry I was away.. Its kinda tricky to get a picture to the right size on here..I,m new at it also. Some people use a free progam called photobucket that is free.. I use Picasa2 witch is also free. What I do is load the picture on Picasa then export it back to the desktop at a smaller size.. 460 Then use the attachment feature on here to load. I don,t know if this will help you..good luck.. also there are many post on here you can search for that have much more detail..The real trick is getting a good picture..I have a long way to go on that one.
  • Thanks for the info, so I guess I cannot just take a picture, put it into my computer and attach it to a post. Some post have pictures in them when you open them, I wonder how you do that. Not only do I need to learn more about coins, my computer skills are also lacking. Anyway, thanks for the help and enjoy that beauty you got today. Also, this link seems good for coin photo information.

They're definitely very lovely coins. The packaging is elegant and the coins themselves are winners. Here's mine that I'm selling.
