Are you saying this is crap?
    Quoted from heritage.

"Buzz Aldrin's 1923-S Peace Silver Dollar Flown to the Moon Aboard Apollo 11. This historic peace silver dollar flew to the moon with Buzz Aldrin on Apollo 11 as part of his Personal Preference Kit (PPK). "

I am saying that if Heritage can guarantee that they can get it slabbed with the provenence included, I am bidding.

Proof: As you can plainly see on the reverse, "The Eagle Has Landed."

If he had gone two years later, he could have taken along an Ike dollar with the Apollo 11 insignia on the reverse.

Oh, wait . . . never mind! image

    Eh...

To be honest this doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Maybe, MAYBE I would go as high as $20...

I wonder if PCGS would slab this coin with the designation that it has been to the moon?

It is interesting to note that an American flag patch carried on the moon by Neil Armstrong sold for over 55K!

Ahhh, no way! It's been taped to something (tape mark across obverse)! And I was going to get it until
    I saw that....Oh my.

Extremely cool coin. There was a lot of cool stuff in that auction, and I got none of it.

The prices seemed insane. I have one lot coming up where I am the high bidder but I expect that my bid will get crushed.

A silver dollar driven all the way to a sound stage in Burbank.

    Learn the Truth

(What is disturbing is that he would sell such a momento. Pass it down through the family or donate it to the Smithsonian or the ANA.)

To you kind folks that believe that the Moon landings were fakes. What about the GSA hoards of CC Morgans? I suppose that those were produced in Philadelphia in the late 1960's. That would have been quite a coup for Nixon. Stamping those babies out for $2 a piece, and selling them to schmuck collectors for $15-20 a throw. Much easier than faking a moon shot, huh?

And the 1903-O Morgan. Only 8 or 10 known to mankind, then suddenly tens of thousands appear in a government vault. Where were those minted great skeptics of the Forum? Probably at West Point as a ploy by Johnson to finance his "Great Society". Sure is easier than faking a moon landing.

As if a secret as big as that could possibly be kept .... some people will believe anything .... and promote it. These individuals are beyond pity... Cheers, RickO

I don't think anyone (sane) actually believes the moon landing hoax stuff. It is a classic myth made popular by the kernel its audacity that was pretty well represented in that moontruth clip.

As for that Morgan conspiracy, the 1895 business strikes would have been even more lucrative than the 1903-O.

Please clarify your statement, Coxe. Are we sane if we believe that 12 men really walked on the surface of the moon, or are we sane if we believe that it is a hoax?

I would buy it if I could afford it...I am a history buff and a huge fan of the space program. As for the moon landing is fake conspiracy- The astronauts placed a reflector on the moon that is still used today for determining the distance of the moon from the earth with a laser. This is a fact- how do you explain that? Oh, wait, you probably can but the black helicopters are watching you because of your 9/11 conspiracy ideas...better put on your foil hat!image

$31,070 I almost, almost hit the bid tab at the last second. I really would love to own that coin, I just could not justify tying up that much cash.
