How to report "Non-authorized" Slabs in eBay titles?

ManorcourtmanManorcourtman Posts: 8,192 ✭✭✭✭✭
Ok, we're still seeing SGS and NNC as well as other crap-u-slabs in eBay titles as well as MS-- grades assigned which is supposed to be a no-no. Should one want to report these crap sellers (not me of courseimage) has anyone figured out how to do it yet? It looks like some of the big crap-u-slabbers are complying but I've seen numerous that seem to be oblivious to the changes. Comments, suggestions and/or flames are welcome. Fire away!

  • I'm a seller on eBay (good slabs only) and other than around here I have not heard a thing about the new slab restriction. Am I the only one?

You probably ought to check the eBay coin board.

I would guess that a lot of sellers of these "other" slabs haven't even heard about the new policy. I won't have it I did visit these boards.

Thanks for the link! There are currently 2203 SGS slabs and 992 NNC slabs on eBay. I don't think the new standards are being usedimage

Of course they aren't. eBay will not even begin enforcing them until 10.01.

Why bother. I can make my own decisions on what slabs I am willing to bid on. SEGS and PCI can be acceptable.

What's the point? Does it bother you that much? Let prospective buyers decide what they want and find acceptable.

I do agree with you but... It’s not so much what a buyer wants or 'not minding one’s own business'… I think it’s more like “only new comers to the hobby are going to get suckered in with MS70s in third rate holders, and if they get discouraged and leave the hobby… that hurts the hobby overall.”

Anything that is a trick or a scam is bad for any hobby.

If some unscrupulous dealer put his own AU coins into his won holders, put a fancy sticker on it “Acme Guaranteed Grading” and marked them MS70… well, it’s not only unethical but, those who got tricked probably won’t say anything or complain… most, not all but most, they’ll just get mad and stop collecting.

That hurts the hobby. The more people collecting... the more valuable your collection...
