What grade did PCGS give this 1914-S Buffalo?

Pretty crackling definition on this second-year issue.

It looks like a 65, but I'm guessing PCGS said MS64. It seems for PCGS to give a 1914-S the MS65 grade, it needs to be brighter.

So, you're saying I should crack it out and dip it to remove the patina of oxidization that is concealing this coin's magnificent luster?image

  • In my humble opinion it looks to be graded MS-FRICKEN-SWEET!

It's atleast a 65. It's dripping with luster and some reverse toning. As for Eye Appeal, it's A++++++

That's a very pretty coin. I'll repeat my assertion that beyond a dozen or so guys grading buffs is like throwing darts. image

TDN makes a point even if it is only in humor. Grading Buffs is a real aquired skill and in this state of preservation, an in hand review is really necessary... looks to be in the 64-65 range, but my darts may be off target
