That's why most of what I buy in type coins has toning similar to the reverse of that ASE. Attractive or decent is good enough. If it's much more lively than that, it's possibly enhanced.
I saw a similarly toned 1967 SMS Kennedy at the show this morning. The dealer had it marked $70, and seemed a little irritated when I asked if he meant to mark it $10.
