WOW, Ive never seen that Mathews/Chipper. I believe it was redemption and many people got replacments. There are probably far less than 52 of these
out there. I also agree that 02 is undervalued and it will only be a matter of time before it blows up. Its kind of funny that while 2007 heritage is at an
all time low 47 bucks a box, 01 heritage increased almost 75 bucks a box and can't be had for less than 275-300.

The red autos have always been strong, but now Im even seeing strong numbers from the 01 blue autos. Its good to be a heritage collector, those that
have put together GU, chrome and autos sets will only see appreaciation.

Nice price on the Duke (for the seller).

Back in 2005 2 of the "cuts" sold for way less.

    Earl Warren - $876
    Jonas Salk - $449

I sold the #3 Mackowiak, guess I should learn to always do research before posting, usually do, but didn't on this one, but I did good as well picked it up for $3.

I've got to watch my Heritage spending before the wife kills me! I just bought a complete 2001 set from eBay. Let's see how the transaction goes.

That has me at complete 2001, 2002 (missing 5 night cards), 2006 (missing 2 sp and 1 variation) and 2007 (missing one card that an eBay seller forgot to include in shipment). Hopefully said seller can also help me finish my 2006 set, let's see how friendly he is after this weekend...

Also picked up an extra 2001 Chrome - Juan Gonzalez. Any chance anyone wants to trade it for a different 01 chrome?

Hi Folks. I'm down to one last card needed for my 2002 Heritage chrome set. If anyone has a lead on a 2002 Heritage chrome THC80 Joe Borchard, I will trade two of my other 2002 chrome extras (all commons). I've also got a boatload of 2004 chromes, some 2005-2006, and a bunch of SP's from all the years available for trade.

Thanks Jeff (mudflap02) for some good help.

So, here we go with another one...

    Should be fun to watch

What I don't understand is this one is numbered 5/10. This is the number of the one I pulled, but it was just Snider. I'm wondering if there were actually 20 of the duals made (10 for Snider, 10 for Snider/Bauer.....now that I'm typing this, maybe 30, 10 for just Bauer)?

good grief, the '01 stuff is lights out right now. Some of the realized prices for mikeed24's just-closed '01 relics:

Scott Rolen: $109.99, Shawn Green: $111.00, Eddie Mathews: $85.00, Duke Snider: $80.00, Chipper Jones: $111.00, Barry Bonds: $80.00

Hard to believe the Bonds, which always sold very well, was surpassed by Rolen, Green & Chipper of all people. I can't recall paying very much at all for my Rolen. As for the Chipper, it must have been pure blind luck that I won a 7-day auction for under $10.

He's got a dual Snider/Green that has just under a day left that's up to $316. Snider's Heritage stuff has been off the chart lately - remember the '01 relic/auto that went for over $1100? Now the /10 that Kurt mentioned. Unbelievable.

Mackowiak met the random number I picked for a reserve price on the guy's first bid, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Maybe it's kind of crappy of me as a seller, but whenever I put a reserve on something (which is rarely, and only then if it's something I feel should sell pretty high anyhow,) I employ a strategy that is sort of the opposite of how I bid. When I bid on a card, instead of bidding $40, I will bid $42.45 or some other arbitrary number that is only a little bit higher than what I want to pay. When setting a reserve, instead of setting it at $100, I would set it at $96.17 or some other price that is slightly LOWER than I would want my reserve to be. This way, if someone is just "feeling out" the price, and they think the reserve is $100, they get popped with the surprise reserve. Like I said, maybe kind of a crappy way to sell things, but nobody is holding a gun to their head forcing them to bid.
  • Options
    parkerjparkerj Posts: 1,098 ✭✭✭
Jeff, I don't think there is anything wrong with that approach. I do the same thing on buying, but on selling, I rarely ever set a reserve. However, If I bid on something, and it beats the reserve, I am happy about it - not feeling "popped". So I say, bidder beware....that bid just might win!

Well, here’s my first problem. I still need two refractors 26 Juan Rivera and 50 Oswaldo Navarro. My next problem will be that my chrome set is half chrome and half refractors. I know I’ll want it to be all refractors. I guess I’ll work on that once I knock out these last two cards.

    I have these to trade.

Now that I'm close to completing my set, I'm trying to figure out how I want to store it when I'm done.

For those of you who use the 9 card sleeves, do you put the yellow variations right next to the non variation or do you put all variations at the end of the set?

Just trying to determine what might look better for displaying the set.

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • Options
Maybe someone can explain this to me, the set books at $400 with the SP's.

However, if you add up each individual card on Becketts OPG, the set is worth $468.80 on the low price and $1,158.50 on the high price.

Why would the set be worth less than the individual cards? Would this mean the set should increase in price over time or do you feel the SP's will drop in price over time?

Or is there some other explanation for the difference?

    Tim

Set pricing is the great mystery of all time. I guess they figure that the more you sell the bigger the discount. It never made
sense to me either. When I put my sets in sheets the variation comes first then the base card. In case of the black/red backs
in 2001, I put them together as sets not side by side. Also the white backs in 05, as a seperate set.

I guess in the true sense, having all the game worn and autographs would be a real master set but I don't think you have to count those

+ all the Chrome, refractors and black refractors I guess image

but with there being a couple 1 of 1s, only 1 person could have the real thing

Just put 2002, 2003 and 2007 Heritage master sets up for auction with starting bids of a penny (Click on my auctions link below if interested). I am also still looking to trade for older Heritage cards, mainly 2001 - 2005, and I have plenty of 2007's to trade for them if anyone is still looking for 2007's.

OK, looking for a couple of older Heritage cards. 2003 #408 Brian Daubach and 2005 #5 Todd Helton. If anyone has those available to trade or sell, let me know. I still have plenty of 2007 Heritage available plus some older Heritage as well. Thanks.

By chance, you son't have the 2002 Heritage #100 Preston Wilson night card? That's the only one I need for the 2002 set.
