I believe at one time mention was made about some doctors toning coins inside of slabs. If that is indeed possible, his coins would certainly be suspect.

He is a member here, isnt he? At least the majority of the coin he sells are in slabs. He should not be compared to others that are selling obvious AT crap. Like this ebay seller noted in an earlier post.

Earlier post with obvious AT coins for sale.

That's not a PCGS slab. It's PCI, for whatever that's worth.

Purchased raw from a top notch toned DANSCO type set

I find it interesting that the Dansco album toned only one side of the coin image -Preussen

Nothing illegal about it at all. Just like nothing illegal about selling Rolex watches out of a trench coat on a street corner. It just raises questions....

I'm by no means an expert at toned coins, but from the naturally toned coins I've seen, I've never seen toned coins with that type of even and brilliant coloring. Maybe, just maybe a coin could tone like that, but I highly doubt.

The most beautiful toned coin I've ever seen, is the PCGS pic for their Morgan. That blue is just to die for imo. I hope I can find a coin toned like that someday. I will not have the willpower to resist buying it.

While I think the toning of the coins in the pictures is probably legit, the saturation of the image's colors may be tweaked a bit. (Ooo, that rhymed!)

That said, some of those coins are startling to look at (in a positive way).
Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

I purchased a toned Morgan in a modern NGC holder from him. His pictures were not slabbed for that coin, and the toning was amazing.

  • Here's a Peace $ that went over $1000 the other day.... It's so easy to tell an AT coin... and we have all seen how easy it is to tone a coin inside a slab... dead giveaway is that the coin in the slab is 100% toned...

    99% feedback...

Yah, and some of them come from teletrade. There's good mixed in with the bad with that seller. You have to judge individual coins there.
