The 4th of July reminds me of how great this place is and how great the people here are.

I guess it's been about 5 years ago that my Dad saw a "YN 4th of July essay contest" sponsored by Frattlaw. I was only 8 and I never really thought that much about coins or collecting coins. But my Dad pretty much made me write a essay. I did the best I could for being 8. I don't even remember what I wrote about but I do remember it wasn't much, but a few weeks later I got this HUGE box full of all kinds of coins and supplies and books and stuff like that.

From that minute on, I was a coin collector. Because of people here being generous, giving stuff to a "YN giveaway" I am now a young numismatist. And I think it's cool to call my self that. And now when the 4th of July comes around it always reminds me of that first YN giveaway, and since then all the friends I've made, all the help I've gotten, and all the nice things people have done for me.

So I guess what I'm saying is, thanks. I guess you never know what being nice, giving something or helping someone will lead too. But I know what it has meant to me. image

And a salute to all of our fellow americans serving in the military abroad who would love to be home for this day, of all days. And I salute all you loved ones of those serving us.
Thanks Samuel. You do a good job of keeping things in perspective around here. So does your dad.
