Scam Ebay Auction Listing for 1796 Quarter

I don't normally post threads about ebay scams, but this one just hit me a certain way. The scammer is claiming that he is selling a 1796 quarter found in an old chest in an estate sale. The problem is, he is using the image of the Benson 1796 quarter sold by Goldberg Auctions in 2002. He claims that the B&W image of the Benson coin is a scan of one of five 1796 quarters found in the chest and that the auction is for all five coins. Hopefully, the folks bidding are just shill acounts and are not that ignorant. Here is the auction in question and I have already reported it to ebay, but it wouldn't hurt to have others report it, too.

<< <i>"on front it has a woman with long hair wavy all the way down to the stars she is looking right" thats a riot..... >>
"on front it has a woman with long hair wavy all the way down to the stars she is looking right" = "how I figure I can make you think that I don't know what I'm talking about so you'll think you can steal this from me for a song."
Or something like that.

Some things are probable.
This is a "GO FISH" story that's impossible to figure.
One certainty is that Heritage won't hire the guy as a cataloguer , but he might have a future with
the Coin Vault !

I'll go let the knucklehead know where I found his picture and then I'll report it to Ebay as well. I think the coin was in a Goldberg auction in 2001

found these 5 coins in cloth which was in a very old chest that I bought at an estate sale. The coins are in good shape I scanned the best looking one. I’m not sure what type this is but I think it may be a Quarter or Dollar. There is no mint stamped on it that I can tell. This is what it looks like on front it has a woman with long hair wavy all the way down to the stars she is looking right. The date is below her and says 1796. Liberty is above her head. There is 8 stars on left side and seven on right I believe those are stars from best I can tell. On the back is United States Of America which almost goes all the way around stops and starts at the roots or stalk of plant on it think it may be wheat. There is an Bird I think it is an Eagle that is in the middle of the coin with in the plant surrounding it. It is looking to its left side which is right if looking at coin the front body faces you. It is standing and has its wings spread out like it just landed or something. I will sell all 5 together. Insurance $1.50 per $100.00.
Go figure !

Gosh darn and I was the high bidder. I was going to turn around and sell it for 50,000. Oh, well. I wonder how he thought he was going to get away with his scam. Anyway, this was in my message box:

<< <i>He responded to my question and siad he would try to add another picture showing all five coins. Look what he did, he took the same picture and mis-aligned them, and put tham together as a whole. This guy is a unbelievable. >>

His reply to my first comment:
"I don't understand why you are saying something like this I have the coins on my desk right now. The image that is in my listing I did my self useing my scaner after trying several times to get a good up close photo of them. Also I have never seen or heard of Goldberg's 2001 auction of the Benson Collection until now If you be so kind please ask another question with links to dealers os I can let them look at them if it helps."
His reply after I sent him the links to Benson, etc:
"Thanks for being interested in my coins I took an advise of another EBayer and took them to a dealer this morning and glade I did he is going to sell them for me at an auction house. He said I would never get what one was worth on here."
Fortunately, the guy was stupid enough to use an image of one of the most widely known and easily recognized examples of the 1796 quarter. Had he just used an average image of an XF example, more people would have been fooled.

But we were "glade" to give him the advice.

It was on the cover of the Goldbergs auction.
From their description:
"...We do note moderate hairlines on the delicate fields from an ancient cleaning, and these apparently limited the grade. "
That's why the Benson toning is so vivid!
