Someones got a couple. If not PM me your email and I'll send them.

It has a far more dramatic name than appearance, in my opinion.

Since this coin has been brought up... can anyone give me the jist on it? What does one look for and how common/uncommon are they?

There is a faint S on the eagle's chest hence the name Superbird.

There are a couple of Teletrade's July 4 auction.

Not the greatest image, but you get the idea...

Never even heard of this variety... thanks for the info and the pics

I think Logan McKechnie had one (PR65) in his email inventory spreadsheet for a while, perhaps still.

I have been hoarding these for years. Try finding one in cameo - they are much tougher to find. I used to be able to cherrypick this variety with ease - now they are much tougher to find.

I don't think they are particularly rare - manyhave been sold on Teletrade in the last 6 months.

As TomB pointed out... it is not very prominent. Certainly a minor variant. If I saw a raw '52, I would look for it, but I would not go out of my way to add it to my collection. Cheers, RickO
