Submitting SAE to PCGS

Fellow SAE collector's and vendors: Under what tier are SAE's sent in for grading, Economy or US Modern? I am talking both Proof coins and Unc's. Also, sending in the coin capsules OK? Thanks in advance.

You know that if the mint shipping container with the set is opened you will only receive the 20th Anniversary designation on the Reverse Proof.

Make sure you put the capsule in the required, labeled mylar flip. it makes their job that much easier once they pop it from the capsule.

I bought the 2006 Anniversary set on eBay for $175, so needless to say I am screwed there. Do they have to be shipped in separately? Or can they go in with all my other modern SAE's and San Fran silver dollars?

look at the anniversary set very closely before sending it in. A lot of empty anniversary set boxes were sold on ebay, probably to people cracking out coins with lower grades for raw resell.

Here are the Rev Prf and the Proof. There are no spots on the coins, but there are on the lens! What do you think?

I think the Proof is shows signs of milk spots forming in the fields of the obverse image The rim is alittle thin along the top too. IMO PF69DCAM

nice camera work. don't see any obvious problems. If it were me and I only had $175 in the set, I would be tempted to resell while prices are up. Nice little profit to be made. The uncirc will never get more than an MS69 under current PCGS grading policy. A 70 on the reverse proof would be well worth the grading gamble. Tough call from where I sit. Go with your gut if nothing else.

What about gold coins like the SF Mint $5? Modern as well? Thanks

Notice the lines in the RP Silver Coin's field around Liberty? I thought it was just me.

Almost like the coin was sliced like a salami?

Anyone have an explanation on how the die does this?
