Toned Proof Roosies?

Picked this one up today!! The dealer didn't like it because the reverse was blue!

Nice pick. Hope he gave it to you at a discount to get this tarnished coin off his hands.

He'd probably hate my toned Roosie, too, since it also has blue stuff on it. Still want to get this thing certified one day; I have a couple dozen but this one is the only one nice enough to warrant it, IMO:

Based on what TomB says, it looks like there is varying thicknesses of silver sulfide on that Roosie. Fabulous looking reverse!

Marty is greedy. I made him a very generous offer, and he rejected it out of hand.

i am going to show my ignorance a bit on 50s proof sets but...!

why would someone slab that coin? are not all dimes in that year's
proof sets all high grade 67s?

it seems odd one would slab a coin that they must have made 10s
of thousands of. seems the slab is worth more then the dime.

    thanks for any feedback.

    Hey MadMarty,

I went to the Ft. Lauderdale Coin Show today and picked up the 1973 Cook Island Album set.

The difference between my fertility god dollar and your avatar is that mine is missing the hat.

Too bad it doesn't have the die chip under the 4.

If it did, I would have offered you BIG MONEY. Like $12! I'm not like cheap old Russ.

Without the chip tho' I could only go $11.
