If anything, these new ones will probably move the price of the 2006-W Unc. Eagle even higher.

Then I wonder what happened to the "W" on the image on their website? Maybe the superglue disolved in acetone? Or they got a hold of the CU magic cloth
  • I noticed the packaging is different this year. Last year the coin was inside a velvet pouch.
The Mint increased the price, and decreased the packaging.

Thank you Mint, may I have another!

I counted 1200 orders in 25 minutes. Ordered a lot of quantity of 1's. Website was smooth sailing. I wonder if the subscriptions had something to do with the ease of ordering.

Those are the designer's initials. The "W" mintmark would be to our left of the eagle

  • << <i>Those are the designer's initials. The "W" mintmark would be to our left of the eagle >>

I was kidding. Obviously the mark isn't there.

The Mint needs a Photo Shop doctor to add the W to its image.

Self slabber, if you will notice those are 2006 dollars in the holders.

Here is the 2006-W SAE from the Mint site. It shows what was stated above -- the W mintmark to the left of the eagle.

The mintage on these is likely to be triple that of the 2006-W if not more. So where do you estimate the aftermarket? $30-$40 if lucky?
Witty sig line currently under construction. Thank you for your patience.

I placed around 12 separate orders from 12 to 12:25 PM and the difference in order numbers was 1200.

Just wondering why you'd place so much individual orders? To keep them in separate, sealed boxes to be flipped on ebay later?

The price is cheap for a 2006-W Unc. with 2007 label
  • BECOKABECOKA Posts: 16,961 ✭✭✭
With all of the issues at hand I opted out of my subscriptions.

Minted to Demand after a year where there was a strict limit.

    Spotting issues

PCGS will only give a max grade of 69

I have my 2006 (luckily with no spots yet) and that is enough for me.

I ordered on subscription and 10 on regular order. Let's see which one I get first.

    Yes 10 single unopened boxes.
  • Just placed an order for 4. Thanks Coin Forum!

Hypothetically, let's say the 2007-W final mintage is around a million. If you use the 1996 bullion Eagle
as a measuring stick, it has a much higher mintage but has a very high premium for a bullion coin (around $60 raw-BU).
If that's the case, I would guess that $40 is reasonable.

    IMHO, FWIW.
  • Coll3ctorColl3ctor Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭
Why the $2.00 price increase, they didn't make enough at $20.00 a pop last year ? I don't think these will go up in value at all but only increase the value of the 06's.

So it sounds like we're pretty sure it's not the 2006-W phenomenon again, right?

No chance - 2006 was the first year for the "W" mark wasn't it? This is just the second year...

Highly doubtful, but only time (and final mintage #) will tell.
  • BochimanBochiman Posts: 25,789 ✭✭✭✭✭
When's the last time the mint had 2 winners in a row (that were of the same type of item)?
I ordered these too, but don't think they will do that well.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Even if the mintage is only 500,000 the number of coins grading MS 69 will be greater than the '96 based on the pop numbers of the 06-W
