What is your specialty?

Mine is photography (Yes, I have exhibited in many juried shows and have been published three times.)
All glory is fleeting.

    Very nice work spacemonkey.

I don't collect fine art. I just collect mass produced art. Movie posters and sports cards.

I take photos for skiing and mountaineering periodicals as a very ambitious hobby.
I have a webpage that should be up and running any time soon; I am waiting for the ISP to refresh so that my page will be available for viewing. It will have a bunch of images on it.

bigmountainski.net (will be available in the next day or two)

Wow lots of nice stuff done by people here! Spacemonkey, some amazing stuff for History channel!

While I dont do much myself, I have been into photography when I have the time, but I do collect comic book and illustration artwork. Some of my collection is currently being displayed at Montclair Museum of Art in New Jersey.

But a few years ago, I won an award at my school for this picture:

I love pen and ink drawing and worked as an "old fashioned" draftsman for a long time. One of my butterfly drawings made the cover of an issue of The Journal of the Lepidopterists Society ...

I love art and history ... and photography and music and insects and brewing ... not necessarily all at the same time.

Neat photos! That was a great question as it brought out those photos and we get to learn about our very skilled forum members.

I do NOT have any art or professional photography in my background. I really do enjoy taking photos of coins though.

My second hobby is presidential campaign political buttons and other small items. During the 19th century candidates issued tokens, medals and medalets. Some of these pieces are listed as Hard Times tokens and Civil War tokens so that part of the merges with my coin collection.

My thid hobby is a model railroad set in HO. I've bought the books and learned to do landscaping so this is not exactly a kids' toy. I've been adding models from bygone times. I'd like to do a bit of Civil War era stuff this summer.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I like artsy stuff although I have no artistic talent that I am aware of. The annual Ann Arbor (Mich.) summer art fair is a favorite of mine.
A few years ago I bought a nicely framed photo of the famous super nova "crab nebula" as recorded on a rock by a native American
out west in the year 1054. I like historic things like that.

I used to be a fine art large format b/w photographer, studio and outdoor. I still dabble but other things take up a lot of time. Maybe in a few years when the kids are out of college I'll rekindle the devotion.

Have had a few public exhibits, but many years ago. One of the promotional posters for one exhibit, I was nude. But I don't do nudes of any gender. A few things have been published. Now people just say, wow you should really get back into it! And I say, pay my mortgage, pay tuition, pay taxes...lol I got caught in the more you make the more you spend spiral

That's nature's art. Natural toners. Encapsulated in water. Tested with time plus it's got a PROVENANCE.

    Super pics, Fletcher.

Well I have some Tom Kinkaid canvas publisher proof's, an original watercolor done by a local artist of the area where I took my wife on our first date. Uh...and I have probably a half dozen other prints sitting around waiting for a place of the walls. I do have a beautifully framed photo of a Kodiac Grizzly done by an artist in the midwest.

My best purchase was on Ebay. I picked up an old Nigg floral print from Florida. It arrived with the glass broken and the print damaged. I was about ready to throw it out when I thought I might be able to use the old frame work. I found a messotint valued at over $3k underneath.
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

Nice space monkey, I've seen several on TV. Lots of nice pics from you guys. I like nature and scenic photography but still need to get upgraded to D-SLR from the old Minoltas.
