Anyone done any gold prospecting on land? I have a farm which use to be Creek farm land with a creak on the north side....lots of quartz in the area...it has a hot spring on the south part of the land...What are the chances of gold being found....THis farm is located in Talledega County Alabama.

Check it out. If you have a detector you can go hunting. Doesn't cost anything except time. Even if you don't find any, just getting outdoors is nice. Take some photos while you're out too.

Worth a try... any history of gold in your area? Never know what you may find. Let us know... Cheers, RickO

You know what, I'd bet gold has been found in just about every state. Even if you don't find "oro el natural", there's gold in the parks. Trust me. Silver too.

We even have gold here in Maine. I have panned gold and was rewarded with a few flakes.

Yeah the area is known to contain gold...It is gold from the Alabama gold rush of the 1870's...tied into the same area as the gold found in Georgia....of the Dahagleia(Spelling) mint.

But I do not know if my land has any...how would you go about finding it on land...I know you can pan the rivers and streams but land! I would need something big to dig with and it would take forever.

Just Google "Gold Panning Alabama" and there you will find everything and more that you need to know.
I just looked and there were too many places to send you to , try it.

Okay you got me. He'll have to buy batteries. But everything else like a shovel, and gas, and a pan, and a rock hammer, and a sluice box, and a scale, sleeping bag, camp stove, food, tent, .357, bullets, image are normal expenditures, right? image That stuff is investment. image
