First find of the year, 1915 Barber

I climbed a wooded hill, turned on the detector and took one sweep with it and signaled. 4 inches down was the 1915 Barber. what you see in the pic is how it came out of the ground. I also found a 1920 wheat penny. I dont know values of coins but love detecting. Does anyone know a value for this coin? Friends tell me it's in really good shape for the age.

    Wow,nice find- looks XF/AU condition, price ranges from $66 to $115 or thereabouts. Probably subtract some because ground finds usually have hairline scratches. I would be hitting that spot hard!

    Very nice.. you should not have cleaned it that way.. soak them in olive oil... but a great find.. and it will sell - although I would keep it. Cheers, RickO

    Is this a Barber quarter breakout? Very sweet looking piece. I have found a number of Barber but none looks like that.
