Respectable price for Proof Set?

What is an acceptable price to pay for 1964, 1961, 1963 Proof Sets

And 1959 Uncirculated set?

I know what my Blue Book says but am not sure if this is what people would pay? Any suggestions as I am going to be buying these sets today?

I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

    1964 - $10-$12
    1963 - $20-$25
    1961 - $22-$25
    1959 - $18-$20

At least, that's what I would pay if I was in the market for them.

Thank you. Do you think it is a good idea to buy this way and break the sets up if in the set there is a real good franklin or other coin which may make a high grade slabbed?

Whenever I read this kind of stuff I flee. Unopened in over 42 years right. If there was any chance of having any of those coins he listed, he'd opened it - which means he did! Glue is a wonderful invention.

The other sets also sold for for a higher price than I was willing to pay. I agree with you that these are not mint sealed. However, do you think it is still a good idea to buy cheaper set UNC and PROOFS and they break them out and submitt to PCGS for high grade slab?

The odds of finding anything in these sets worth submitting are very, very slim. It's better to hit shops and shows to cherrypick opened sets where you can actually view the coins.

If you are attempting to do this to make money upon resale then I can assure you that you will lose money on most coins, and likely lose money overall, because a great number of these sets have been picked over, and the better coins removed, for more than two decades.
