Is there a coin in your collection that you would NEVER sell???

Regardless of value??? For me, the birth year set of cent, nickel, dime and quarter (1970) that my twins got from circulation and gave me a few years ago will stay with me and is part of my will to go in the casket at my passing...only worth .41 cents to most, but priceless to me...Also, I inherited a circulated wheat cent collection 1909-1958 (complete with the exception of the 09-S VDB and the 55 double die) from a dearly departed relative...I will pass that down in the family when the time is right....what do you have, either moon money valuable or otherwise that you would not ever sell???

I'd have to say no reguarding my current collection, since I've never received anything "special" from anyone that has huge sentimental value. Maybe one day my Grandma will let me have that bag of '95-P Morgans that she got from her Dad for her wedding.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Brothers....you can't replace fingers and toes....coins are just a hobby.
I guess everything has it's price.

Likewise, I have coins from my dad that I will never sell either. Other than those coins, I am such a fickle collector that no coin I have is in a permanent collection.

It was left too me (raw) in a group of coins my grandma left me when she passed. They were mostly Morgans, and this was the best of the lot. I submitted it to Anacs and was lucky to get a top 100 VAM in Gem out of it.

Everything I own is for sale at some price... although I don't know yet what the price is for some of them.
Most of the my other stuff I would consider selling for a nice price, but if not, I'm going to keep it.

I'll trade that sucker but I could never really sell it!
Originally purchased as an AU53 Type 2 IKE which turned out to be a Type 1 that was really beat up! I did a grading guarantee on it and it now resides in an AU-53 PCGS Holder.

My icon IS my coin. It is a gem 1949 FBL Franklin.
<< <i>back when i was a kid in the 50's--a couple of my friends and i sneaked into a mortuary and i stole a penny off a dead mans eye--still got it-and it's for sale if anyone is interested >>
So, what happened to the other penny? Oh and what's the date?

<< <i>My basic answer is I would never sell the coins my wife gave me as gifts about 30 years age. Two quick examples 1942/41 dime and a 1937-D three-legged buffalo. >>
Being married myself...I can safely say that you gave a good answer!!!! (And a great decision on both coins!)
Especialyl considering the amount of cash that they represent...I gotta retire with paper money, NOT $20 gidl coins.

Thanks, Newcomp103, and I didn't even ask for either coin. I think Linda did a great job is the selection of these coins!

I have coins that I consider long-term keepers, but from one year to the next, coins do move in and out of this circle. Ultimately, at the right price (ie. stupid money), everything is for sale...I think.
<< <i>I have no emotional attachment to coins based on who gave them to me. I have sold coins given to me by my grandfather, two grandmothers, and father, some of which would be considered heirlooms. Ultimately, all three of those people would want me to be happy, not clinging to some worn Morgan dollar as if it is a piece of their soul.

I had a friend like that. We exchanged Christmas gifts every year for many years. I always got a list and purchased what was on the list but it was alway returned. I stopped the exchange it just wasn't worth my effort any longer. I guess I wanted them to be happy, but it was just too much work. Maybe it would be easier for people to give gifts of cash if they want you to "be happy" that way you can get what you want or need.
I don't keep the coins my wife gave me as a piece of her soul. I keep them because I love her and respect her efforts! (I'm sorry even stupid money wouldn't make me sell them.)
