What grade would you assign this. Do you think it's slab worthy?

The color is not quite that vibrant, as I was trying to capture the mirrors.

<< <i>PR64 RB. Looks 65, but possible light hairlines in front of face, and three rim nicks at 11:00 on reverse. It is slab worthy. >>
Speaking of those "rim nicks" What possibly could of caused those to be so uniform and also not damage the field or relief of the coin? Is it possible they were caused by the mint? Your are correct about a few light hairlines, they go in one direction which leads me to believe they were caused by a light wipe the coin recieved in the past.

Even moreso, if so, as it looks cleaned (pumpkin orange) and retoned. Sorry, just MHO
<< <i>you can try and roll the dice, but my guess is BB. >>
I paid 20 bucks for the coin, so the roll would be in my favor.

Can't go wrong at 20 bucks....even if it's just for the Dansco

<< <i>What is it encased in? The bubbles make it look like it's the centerpiece of a paperweight. >>
I'm suprised that you are the first to ask that. The coin is sitting in a glass dish under about a half inch of acetone. I've found that it's sometimes easier to capture the coin when sitting in acetone, believe it or not.

It didn't look like any slab I was aware of

You done good for $20 and I would also like to see what it looks like out of the acetone for I am 100% certain it does not look like the picture.

original... no comment on grade but it is obviously in
good condition.
One thing happens when you put coins in acetone, you get what is called an "acetone effect", which happens when the natural occuring oils on copper are stripped off. Is it artificial? That debate has raged without a clear answer.
The "acetone effect" is easily hidden with a light application of Blue Ribbon Coin preserver, although I don't suggest putting it on Proofs.
edited to add: But if you did put Blue Ribbon Coin Preserver on your coin, I bet the color would be gone and it would look pumkin orange (cleaned)
I'd need to see it in hand. But in a non technical sense.... Y'all sure got a purty one...
