    I thought it took years for a coin to tone....

    That one is most likely AT, but if you take one of these golden dollars, and toss it outside on the ground, it will be toned in a matter of a few weeks. I know because when my daughter was young she was playing with a SAC in her sandbox. Found it a few weeks later and it looked like a brown Lincoln.

  • I always carry a pocket full of them to spend and I noticed a toned one the other day.

    Thought to myself good grief they are toning already.....must not be made to last very long.....

    Kind of reminds me of the nickels that came in assorted flavors

    a few years ago. Got so bad, PCGS began BB all of them.

    If it isn't treated, what's the stuff that makes the color disappear when wet, and return when dry? My kid has markers and crayons that do that sort of thing...
