any info on a 2005 22-coin quarter set

Hi,

I have a friend who bought 22 quarters, all graded MS-69 by ICG. She bought them on one of those TV coin shows. She knew nothing about them-just plunked down $500 and she has barely enough money to live on. I'd considering buying them from her if I knew what they're worth. Moderns are not my cup of tea, though I just bought two bullion US gold $50's (NGC PR70) and might buy a platinum $100 for a type set.

    The numismatic products typically sold by TV marketers are priced no less than 100% over current fair market value. In the case you've described, those coins may be priced closer to 200% over current FMV.image

    You could probably get $6-$10 each for them on e-bay.

    Lesson? Never buy coins on TV.

    That is so sad... I have seen it so often.. a neophyte will come to me with this 'incredible deal' he/she got on tv... I try to break it gently... but it never goes over well. Some have become indignant, even accused me of trying to make them sell at a loss. Eventually, they realize their error. Even had one apology. Cheers, RickO
