    Haven't seen it before, or any Olympic winner awards in person. Here's a pic of the real ones:

    Building a set of Olympic winner awards may be a daunting task given that many owners may not want to part with them.

    They dont ever come up for sale to the public right? I thought maybe just a replica would be very cool.

  • The design looks good on paper, but I don't think it came out too well. The medals look a little junky:

    Yes, they do. We sold a bronze swimming medal from the 1928 Olympics last year. There are a number of venues that handle Olympic memorabilia.

    As with coins, a medal design has to be evaluated from a 3-dimensional model, not a piece of flat art. The Olympic design was selected from a drawing and the Athens folks got a flat design struck on bronze or silver (gold plated for 1st place).

    My mom met Jesse Owens on her 20th Birthday (1980) and got his autograph. I don't think he had his 4 gold medals from 1936 with him though.
