grades in! (with descriptions)

I've been swamped with work lately, and unable to post. I have however been keeping up with the forum happenings. (BTW, Don.......next time you have a coin show next to a casino, i'm you're man! the only thing better than that would be a coin show being hosted by Hooters!)

I submitted a darkside batch to NGC recently (the 18th), and they are done already; what a turnaround time! I'm especially pleased with the grades, especially my Shooting Thaler which is my pride-n-joy of the lot. I bought all of them raw, and managed to avoid the whole body bag thing (whew!) here are the results:

1885 SWITZERLND BERN 5F MS 65

I picked up this stunner from the Swiss master Craig Keplinger. FYI, Craig is a great guy to deal with, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend him when dealing with all things Swiss.
The toning on this coin is really cool, as is the wonderful frosted devices on the reverse. This one will certainly be relegated to the "keeper" status!

1948MO MEXICO S5P MS 64

I got this one on Ebay, having not any toners before. Some of you may recall when i posted this pic from the seller. I was considering pulling the trigger, and am glad i did. Essentially, i paid a premium for the toning, as a run-of-the-mill 5 peso is not worth the 40 bucks i paid, but i think it is cool!

1951 CANADA S$1 MS 63

This one was picked up at my first coin show i attended, a local show put on by my coin club. I asked a nice gentleman (a Canadian coin specialist) if he had any of the 'diving goose' '67 dollars, and he whipped out this bag full of misc. Canadian dollars. I dug through mostly AU silver silders, and this beauty was the lone nice toner in the bag. After buying it for a song (10 bucks), I was unsure about how high it would grade due to being in a bag with the others.

1972 SILVER CANADA S$1 SP 67

I picked this dollar up at the same show as the one above, for just a couple bucks more. It has really cool reds, golds, and light yellow tones on the reverse. I dig these dollars from 30 or so years ago that managed to pick up some color from their coin case material. cheap thrills for sure!

1894 GUATEMALA C/S ON 1891 TF PERU SOL PESO MS 64

last, but certainly not least is the cool Guatemala with the Peruvian counterstamp. This olive toned beauty was picked up on ebay for a relative song (40 bucks, which i think is a great value for a cool niche-type coin)
