A few colorful newps... one being a travesty.

A few colorful darkside newps...

This first one made me cry. I want to find the person who scratched the obverse and thwack them with a clue-by-four. image

This one is a cheapie from the melt bag. Not worth much, but nice color.

Lastly, I have thing for Swiss Rappen in high grade... they tone quite nicely... cheap too.

Dan, if you still have that blue PCGS MS66 2 rappen from that date, they should make a nice pair. You really capture colour well!

Those scratches could very well be 100+ years old. A time when that shilling was only worth one shilling.

Heh, I was watching a documentary today on the Bureau of Engraving and the Philadelphia mint. The director of the bureau of engraving, commenting on how rare errors are with their computer assisted checking, said that he finds it funny that people collect their mistakes. The image was showing that note with the Del Monte sticker printed on it, sold on ebay.

    If to existing scratches
    you did object,
    exactly what
    did you expect?

    Color is fine
    as far as it goes
