Peace dollars under valued?

I am wondering what the group thinks about Peace dollars in general. Do you think they are under valued and if so do you see them ever moving up? What is your opinion? image

The common stuff will always be common, and the key stuff will always be key. I love Peace $$'s and am working on my second BU setimage It's easy to complete cause there are only a couple of keys, the rest are easy to find nice examples. As far as market goes?? I don't think it has changed much in the last 5 years or so.

I can only give you my personal experience..I completed the series in 2002 & sold it in 2006. All graded MS64-65 except for the 34. In that period of time, most dates doubled & some trippled in value, saying that, my personal feeling is that they are no longer under valued.

  • I had a 96% complete set, sold for a 200% profit. I'd agree also that they do not appear to be undervalued.

  • They definately were for a very long time (undervalued), when morgan dollars reached their pinnacle--peace dollars were the dirty family secret to Morgan's princess bride. I think if you look at the mintages of some dates, you'll find a lot of value still exists in the series. "Key dates" have made up ground, but there's a few hidden gems that haven't found much interest yet.
  • In the last five years a 1928 in 64 went from $ 525 to $ 1200..... had 82 of them....

i think they will take off because of the influx of so many new collectors coming on the seen.

Yep, i think they are undervalued. Just bought the 1934 pcgs ms-65 at the last Heritage auction. I liked the low mintage numbers and the strike of the coin.

overvalued to me as a collector. i believe there are rolls upon rolls
of these coins in BU hidden away in shoe boxes across the USA.

of course not the key date(s), but all the rest.
  • I think if they have gone up that much in value; they might be fully valued. Like the stock market, it takes new money to make it go higher.

I hear you on that one, I am still looking for one in high BU grade, but have not liked the prices.

  • I used to like the toners, but most of them are creative colored, so I've given up on them.
