We've done this before, but... EXPLAIN YOUR USERNAME

I remember a thread like this a while back, but I wanted to start another one.

Explain your username.

Mine (frankhardy) - My last name is Hardie (notice the spelling). I also used to read the Hardy Boy's detective books when I was a kid. Since I am the oldest Hardie boy (my brother being a couple of years younger than me), I just chose the oldest Hardy Boy's name - Frank Hardy.

I'm a big Orson Welles fan so that explains the first part. I'm also a huge fan of Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now. Combined the two.

Mine is sort of odd. My wife use to collect those stupid beanie babies and one of the first higher priced ones she bought was one called Stingray. So I have used that for a lot of different things.

I just like the way it sounds in Spanish. I saw the previews for the movie Volver (w/ Penelope Cruz) and thought it was a neat word - nothing more.

Means - to return in Spanish

Favre is for some player on the Packers that has been with the team for 15 years. He actually is still on the roster and gets decent playing time for his age. 1971 is my birth year.

Mine comes from an art critic's review of the famed Canadian Group of 7 in the twenties. The critic didn't like the work, and likened it to so much 'hot mush.' The Group of 7 (seven famous Canuck painters) turned the word around and began calling themselves that (the Hot Mush School). Heck, I don't even like art all that much, but I thought the word sounded cool when I learned it back in college.

I think black bordered cards are the most aesthetically appealing. I started collecting 1985 topps football until I realized how hard PSA is on black bordered cards.

There use to be a TV show called NASCAR 360 showing the everyday life of some of the NASCAR drivers.
Well most of them live in the Charlotte area (Where I live + NASCAR HOF). I also loved the opening theme music.

Did you know that Vintage for NASCAR cards are three sets and made in 1972, 1983 and 1986. Modern cards are 1988 to present.

Working on Early NASCAR Sets (With Large Scans):
    1986 Sportstar Photo-Graphics Racing
    1988 Maxx Myrtle Beach

Of course after I shot some of my mom's favorite Christmas orniments. 2nd is I love using a sniping service for my card buying on Ebay.

Colebear, what kind of dog is that? It's kind of got a lab head, but both the body and head seem a little leaner than the normal lab, anyway good looking dog. I've been out of cards since the late 80's and only within the last month or so have found a renewed interest, I found this site and have since bought a number of 2006 and 2007 Topps Heritage baseball cases, and the only justification I have left for buying cases is that I am still missing two of the 2007 felts, hence the name HeritageAddict.
