Working on an article and hoped someone could help me out
The Carson City Mint was formally reopened on July 1, 1889, but did not strike coins until October 1. Does anybody know what the first denomination struck was and how many?

edited for the duh factor. How ignorant of me to forget the gold issues. They did produce double eagles in 89 along with the dollars, dont know which came first
