Is UPS COD a safe alternative?

I have a $12,500 dollar item for sale on ebay and that is how the buyer wants to purchase.

It still travels by the brown truck. Is it a coin? I don't think you can insure them through UPS. Do you know if he is a UPS driver or not?

    I'd still stick to USPS.

I would not ship anything without money in-hand first.

Money in hand, coin ships.... the only way. Return privilege will cover any regrets. Cheers, RickO

If you fall for this you're the world stupidest sucker.
The "buyer" will give the UPS driver a bad check and split with the $12500 item.
UPS takes the check made out to YOU, and gives the recipient the package.

    $12.50 OR $1,250 OR $12,500

Cleared check, ACH transfer or money order for an unknown customer.

Things change if you know the customer very very very well.

I have been collecting coins, stamps, baseball cards and other things since the 1950's.
There have been many dealers that have sent me things "on approval" once they got to know me.
But RickO's golden rule is the best road to follow.
