Yes I know I am geting way ahead of myself seeing as Q1 2007 has not come to an end. I bet these will be a heck of a set. Have not seen a $5, $1 and 1/2 dollar set in a while. Any body have any additional info? I found this here:Top of page six

If the half dollar is not intended to circulate -- and there's no way in the current world that it really could -- why not just make it in 90% silver? Or is the intent to have a different metal composition for each piece?

Maybe the clad half dollar is intended to circulate the same way 2007 JFK clad half dollars are intended to circulate

That's a pretty big "if." I found page 7 of this report more interesting, however. Nice graphs showing both drastic increases in quality and drastic decreases in injuries. Of course, the scope of things being so measured can easily be adjusted to show progress. I wonder what the elimination of the cent would do to those numbers.

This sounds like a very cool set. I like the three-coin various denomination gold mixed in with silver and clad plan. Thank you for pointing it out.

High is relative isn't it? Aren't the mintages for the 2001 ASB, 2006-W MS ASE and 1999 Silver SHQs also "very high"? How high do you think it will be?

In my limited experience, you are lucky to break even on the pure commems at least for the quick flip. It takes so darned long for them sell out.

It doesn't say it is a set, it states it is a three coin program. Example, the Jamestown coin was a two coin program...

Will they offer a 6 coin set with both proofs and Unc's in one box?
No sets.
The Mint loves to clutter people's safes up with big bulky boxes.

No way. The only decent buy and flips were the buffalo silver dollar, the marine silver dollar and the franklin dollar sets. Of these three, only the regurgitated buffalo dollar has had any legs and its price has been stagnant for at least 3-4 years. The marine and franklin dollars dropped back to near issue price shortly after they sold out.The only othe three coin set that had any flippability was the Statue of liberty set back in , i think it was 1986. That flipped for close to $500 at one time. now it trades at melt.
So... the chances of this eagle set being a flipping opportunity is slim. It would have to sell out in a matter of days and also have a sustainable demand above that. I just don't see it happening.
Now it might be a buy, submit and flip opportunity if you get all 70's but then only if they are PCGS 70's.
