Granted the photos are not that great, but I've been pleasantly suprised by every one of these old ANACS certificate coins that I've purchased. I think the coin is higher than VF30, and appears to have some luster peaking through. What is your opinion?

A nice 20 center?

My icon IS my coin. It is a gem 1949 FBL Franklin.

Yeah, that is a risk you run with these, but there should be enough identifiers once in hand.

<< <i>looks like a VF35, but definitely not XF40 >>
Tought to tell from the photos. The last anacs photo cert I bought was a PF60 1880 Indian Head, that came back as a 63BN. It is kind of apples and oranges though. Here is my current 20 center in my collection. I paid XF money for it.

I LOVE that coin! That is the way they are supposed to look.

I love those old photo certificates...

<< <i>Looks like it was cleaned many years ago. That kind of toning isn't the type you see on original VF30 coins. >>
That's uncanny. I can't see squat.
Here is one of mine. I have two and submitted one to ANACS recently at the Charlotte show, but I don't even remember which one. Neither of mine are particularly high grade, but they are both nice lower-grade pieces. Both are 1875-S and VG-ish, but I think I graded one of them VG10.
I can't remember if it is this one or the other that is getting slabbed, on a lark.
