I love the OFFICIALLY and LEGALLY notified. Perhaps the seller thinks he/she sent certified e-mail.

I just reported about a half dozen of the sellers auctions for keyword spamming. I also see the seller lies that the upsidedown lettering is an error......this is a violation of e-bay's policy that statements in your listing must be true and complete.

    I'm disappointed. I haven't gotten a reply.

BTW, he negates the effectiveness of his eMail with this:

<< <i>This is an automated response to your email received. >>

In order for a cease and desist to stand up in court, the recipient has to have actually received and read the correspondence. Since he claims this is an automated response, the sender can rightfully assume that the recipient never read it and can keep trying until an actual response is received.

It would be interesting if we had his name and address. Forward them and his auction claim to the dept of revenue for each state and ask them whether or not he is really forwarding the tax money he claims he is collecting to them? Most state revenue depts do not like people falsely claiming they are collecting sales taxes if they aren't. If he is (Which is not likely) fine. If he isn't he may find 40 state governments investigating him.

I asked him "If I was to win this item and send it to PCGS for grading(express due to 14 day return policy) and it doesn't grade MS-67 will you also be refunding the grading fees? And the shipping fees to and from PCGS?"

He only has to collect sales tax if someone buys from within his state, and then, depending on the state, he still doesn't have to (Michigan doesn't charge sales tax on coins).

Keyword spamming is putting words into your auction listing that do not apply to what you are auctioning. The reason this is not allowed is people like me search on PCGS or NGC or whatever, and get annoyed when we find a bunch of auctions that are not for what we searched for.

The seller has PCGS in the title of most coin auctions, even though they are not PCGS graded coins.

It looks like he took 4 dollars and 27 cents to the post office vending machine, picked up some change, and went on ebay to list $50,000+ worth of "rare coins"! WOW, I bet he covets that vending machine like his little secret. Hope nobody else finds out!

    Last summer.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

And some states that do tax them only do so under $1000; sales over $1000 are tax-exempt. Texas and (I think) California are like that.

Nice keyword spamming - you do realize key word spamming is a violation of eBay policies! If you where not aware of this you have now been formally and legally notified - failure to comply with eBay policies will cuase you to be banned from the site.

No sales tax on coins in Connecticut, and many of those other states as well. I'll bet the seller knows that, too.

Absolutely true. Collectively, it might constitute a federal crime and he could be effectively prosecuted. Otherwise, I think he'd just end up on an individual state warrant wish list that won't do a thing unless he gets stopped for speeding in the state. There might be reciprocity among them though. Lawyers could address it, but probably few of them know the details involved. Nonetheless, the guy has bigger b***s than I think he realizes.
