White spots on 64 silver proofs

After reading some of the postings here about the AH Kennedy proofs, I decided to check through some of my 64 proof sets.

EVERY ONE of the silver coins has a field that looks terrible under even moderate magnification. It looks like minute white spots sprayed on the fields. Like 'overspray' after someone has carelessly painted the woodwork on your house with a spraygun.

I could not get a decent picture and decided perhaps this is pretty common and someone would know right away what the problem is. If I must try again with the pics, I will.

Perhaps this is the dreaded milkspotting problem?

What is it? ----- and can it be eliminated short of a wire brush?

Yes, they are milk spots, and no they can't be removed.

Sometimes the spotting can be REALLY bad.

Yep, real photo. And, I've seen even worse. It's a major problem with the Accented Hair, more so than the regular variety.

Russ, I thought those white spots on the coins came AFTER you were happy with the coin? LOL Have you tried pre-treating the Kennedys by dipping them in acetone or something else? Has NCS tried getting these spots off? Ray
You only live life once, enjoy it like it's your last day. It just MIGHT be!
