It's the holder...not the grade...yes, there will be an ample supply of ms66 in the future, but not in the special holder. The submission criteria will not allow it.

<< <i>I believe they are husband and wife. They live in TX, and I have always have great service from them. >>

Good for you, William! There's probably alot of folks who received great service from him/her/them ... whatever, I'm just saying that I DIDN'T! My experience was NOT a pleasent one, and that he/she/ they ... whatever, had absolutely no reason to leave me a negative comment that I did NOT deserve, and THAT really bothers me, just because of the fact that it was a LIE, and lieing says alot about a person's character. Heck, all I wanted was the coin I paid for or some kind of refund, be it partial or full, it didn't really matter. I would have been more than happy to work with him, had the situation been reversed. There was simply no understanding, cooperation, or the slightest degree of concern shown about the receipt of my purchase. I personally will never buy another item from him because of the undeserved negative feedback comment he left me. I was more than willing to make another purchase if he was willing to meet me half way. Instead, he chose to ruin my 100% pos. feedback rating that I had worked so hard to build/maintain. When I get burned, I think it's only right to share my experience with other HONEST prospective buyers so they at least know what COULD happen. I'd want the same thing if I were contemplating a purchase from a seller such as "Seylevel" ... Maybe he HAS seen the light, as his feedback DOES appear to be somewhat improving, but he ripped me off, so personally, I wouldn't pee on him if he was on fire!image

THE VERY BEST OF LUCK IN ALL YOUR FUTURE TRANSACTIONS WITH "SEYLEVEL" ...

    Enjoy your day!

Not here. My order was entered early also. Those sets went dirt cheap imho. >>

Nor I. My order was entered on 2/20, which is probably the earliest it could have been on coins I picked up and mailed on the afternoon of 2/15. I suppose early release rolls could have been sent in 2/13 or 2/14 by overnight after the FD program was announced.

Yep, and so does engaging in retaliatory feedback, which this seller does any time they get less than a positive. For that reason alone, I will not do business with them.

Well I'm kinda curious how these sellers got both P & D coins submitted on the 15th?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I was wondering the same thing. I could only get D's. I am working with other guys on the baords to trade but to have them both by first day would have been tough.

I'm curious about that as well. The only way I could see would be to trade submissions with someone else. I can preorderd as many coins as I want from my bank, but of course they all Denver (I'm in Chicago). So if I sent rolls of D mint coins in under a submission for a trading partner and the partner submitted rolls for me then we should both have matched sets. Otherwise just trade coins outright after they are graded.

<< <i>Would a coin collector really pay a premium for an MS66 sent in on the first day of issue vs. an MS66 sent in on the tenth day of issue? >>

ABSOLUTELY! REF: First strike. Same deal (in a way) different "label".

I'm not one of those collectors, although at this point I think we need to start referring to them as fans, short for fanatic. >>

It was a very difficult task to get the $1 coins in any quantity on the first day. I have also repeatedly made the point that First Strike and now First Day coins are almost surely submitted once and only once. Which would most collectors prefer a MS66 that got the grade on the first try, or a coin that got it on the tenth try? If the MS66 coins go for a premium, there will be a lot of resubmits.

Another factor is that U. S. Mint may be reacting to complaints about low quality coins and improve their procedures. The edge lettering is new to them and there may be simple and easy steps that they can take (or not). This means later coins might be higher quality, and that is a big fear for those who buy high grade moderns that are in the first batch. However, the First Day designation is a separater, and gives some protection. If the Mint does change its procedures and subsequent coins are much higher quality, the First Day high grade coins have an umbrella against a huge new batch of high grade coins.

That said, it is still a crapshoot. However, looking at what other no reserve auction First Day coins were going for, the $105 price is well below current fair value. Whether that value will go up or down is anyone's guess. >>

ARGHHHH! We are talking about coin collecting, right?!? This is almost insane (at least to me...maybe I'm the one who's insane.)

Okay, would you pay the same money for a low-end MS66 and a high-end MS66? What does it matter when or how many times it was submitted for grading?

    >>

In most series, a high end 66 is worth probably double what a low end 66 is worth. In many series, auction results back that up. I mostly collect Morgans, and can tell you that it is very true in that series.

A coin that makes 66 on one try through has a decent chance at being a high end coin. A coin that makes 66 on the fifth resubmit is almost certainly a low end coin. I'll repeat it again, First Strike and First Day coins are almost certainly submitted once and only once, and in my mind worth a significant premium over other coins. Yes, it is coin collecting, collect what you like.

I'm sorry if I sounded rude. I re-read my post and it does sound harsh. I understand your point when it pertains to a sight unseen sale. I guess I didn't consider that. Otherwise it's fairly easy to tell a high-end coin from a low-end coin, and then the premium for "First Day" doesn't seem to be worth it. BUT, for a sight unseen sale you are correct.

I don't mean to sound negative image but did anyone open rolls and find any 66's?

    I only opened about 12 rolls 300 coins and I didn't find any 66's Maybe 1 65 and 4 64's which I sent in.

How can one person recieve 52 P's and D's in 66. I can't wait to see pop reports on these.

Carlsbadeagletrader selling 65's I can understand. There will be many of them but I don't think there will be many 66's

    Just my $.02

    Russ,
The 66 seller didn't even get the coins graded but bought them on the secondary market...so I guess he told a fib. If I put something in my auction you can be assured I have very, very high confidence in it's verity.

Edited to add: BTW, your check is in the mail...image

If they have the PROOF, you know they are in bed with the Mint. According to the Mint's website, the proof won't be released until 'spring'. I bet the Mint doesn't even put these in the holders for them. Probably some kind of bulk purchase.

    Good day OPA, I'm Joe.

I partially agree with this statement, by the way. That's where the added value comes for those collecting a series of labeled registry coins in PLASTIC. It is also my belief that several higher grades will ultimately flood the market after this initial break out and I contend that it is NOT the holder but the coin that will dictate value, ...even though it will probably have to be in PCGS or NGC plastic to see it's greatest value. However, being in business also, I must say...

It's the PRESENTATION that makes or breaks the deal.

So I guess we could all agree that George looks good in a pine box image

Wow maybe should have bought 10 and flipped them immediately. LOL

Yes, I had that problem. I didn't notice the $5 for insurance. He refunded my orginal payment, I bought two sets, and sent me a new invoice for the coins, shipping and insurance. I paid the new balance and he emailed me that he got the payment and would send the coins when he received them.

    So far so good.

I just talked to him and he did pay by paypal but did not buy insurance because he said he never buys it. He is confirmed and all that stuff and I know the auction states if paying by paypal then insurance is required but would not buying insurance constitute refunding the money? A simple email note stating he needed to send $2.70 more to cover insurance would have sufficed.
