How smart am I???

Lets see, I give up a 24kt 1 ounce gold coin (FS PCGS 69 Gold Buffalo) for a 1 ounce Silver coin - PCGS Reverse Proof PR70. I wonder which will work out in the long haul.

BTW, how the heck do I customize or upload my personal graphic for my icon???

Do you play Texas Hold-em?... would you like some more silver?... image Cheers, RickO

  • I about 6 or 8 months, ask yourself the same question.

If you want the gold, sell the 2006 RP-70 silver and buy 2 69 Buffs --- then pocket the leftover money.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    I think it's brilliant.

How many more oz.s of gold would you swap for an oz. of silver?image

Is there any question why this forum is so fantastic? Where else can one get this type of entertainment? My stomach muscles still hurt from laughter... A great demonstration of why life is stranger than fiction - you just cannot invent this stuff... Cheers, RickO

There was a movie involving a girl named Dorothy, it took place out west somewhere in the heartland of america and there was tornado. I forgot the name of the movie, but there was this Scarecrow looking fella who was quite the hoofer and he longed for what it appears you are longing for.

Darn if I remember the name of the movie.

There was some organ the fellow was lacking. Anyway if you come up with it.

  • Well I meant to have fun with the topic but you guys take the cake!

I was simply pointing out the ironic aspects of the Coin world. Perceived value (based on rarity) of a Silver Ounce, taking the place of a proven value of an Ounce of Gold. Now the truly ironic thing is that gold is in itself a perceived value. A pretty useless metal that represents the foundation of the economy....what a funny place. We won't even go into the jewels aspect.

Swest... although both metals are used for jewelry (thereby perceived value), they also have a commercial value - in various applications.. and that is 'real' value. The economic perspective is more than perceived since the demand gives the value 'real' trading power. Cheers, RickO
  • Rick,

I understand that..but can't you have a little fun at the concept?

For sure.. fun is the second reason for this forum (the first being educational in the hobby of choice)... sometimes (due to the two dimensional medium of computer communications) the joke part is missed... but, when pointed out, appreciated... imageimage Cheers, RickO
