Supposedly not gonna happen, as they say they will not mint the sacs at the same time as the prexy's........I guess we will see.
I think the only error will be paying too much for the error.
What may also be interesting is what the post-strike edge lettering may do with error coins. Most intriguing may be a partial collar. The larger diameter of a broadstrike could also lead to some interesting results. Or an off-metal coin, especially on a quarter blank, would be intriguing to see if the edge could still get lettered.
Eric von Klinger of CW e-mailed me saying that he and Paul Gilkes visited the mint and watched the edge lettering equipment. He said that they saw plenty of blanks and already struck coins that had been thru the machine all over the floor. Someone could easily pick them up and throw them back on to the conveyor belt and go through the machine again. That's what we see on this one going through twice.
I bought up over 700 of em in individual rolls from various banks in my area the day they came out and have only broke open a few. So far no luck with any non lettered edge coins.... for that matter i wouldnt even call most of what I've opened BU. Are they making these things from clad butter? I've never seen coins that are so banged, scratched and ugly straight from N.F. Strings wrappers.

The supply is non stop on ebay. You'd have to think with the new process someone was watching what was going on. So how did so many thousands get by ??
A search of 'washington edge' is in the low 300's. I think after today, Sunday, there may be less than 300 for the first time.
This search produces more than the smooth edge. I'm going out on a limb here to say I think they are drying up. You'd have to think all the banks in Florida have been raided.
The CWI location number that rolled the plain edge Washington coins found in and around the Tallahassee area is 103. Therefore, the CWI#103 is NOT a lot number, but simply a location number that appears on every single box of coins, of any type, Presidential or otherwise, that leaves that facility

Yep -- already has happened. This one went thru the edge lettering machine twice. The two sets are equal distanced apart.

The double lettering is really kinda cool. I would not mind trying for a complete set of doubled edges.
