Amon used TrueView for his coins? Pretty incredible.

I am not certain of this, but there is a fair chance that Amon inherited many of his dollars from his father, Amon, Sr.
As I remember, Amon's main numismatic interest was currency.
Regardless, whether Amon, Jr. selected these or inherited them, the Carter collection will stand forever as a great collection of dollars.

<< <i>BTW, did Carter purchase any of these fine dollars through Mehl? >>
Yes - I have a copy of the 1947 invoice for my 1838 Gobrecht. Also on the same invoice are the 1794, the 1801-1803 proofs, the other gobrechts and the 1843 proof set.

Yikes! I would hate to have to write the check for that invoice today.

C'mon, Glicker. Way to trash up the board with meaningless necro resurrection.

I remember seeing Amon many times at the ANA and the Memphis Paper Money Show. Great gentleman.
