winged liberty at the bank

I looked over the counter into the change slots at the tellers station at my local bank today. I see one dime, sideways mind you, that looks silver. I inquire if I can see it and it is silver 1942 Mercury dime, I moved to the next teller and she has one out in plain site in her change organizer. So, two Winged Liberty and 20cents from me and I own them (1) 1943S (1) 1942 possible overdate I gotta get my glasses.
Would you think that these coins would end up in a bank circulation change organizer? In the year 2007 still finding coins like these? OK not a "you suck" but what the heck. Right?

Oh yeah, they grade VF ++ nice coins and I was looking over the counter in the first place to get a better look at one tellers legs when I spotted the dimes. I gotta find my glasses.

I would say that if it is an overdate than you would receive several "you suck"s, including one from me. Good eye and nice pick up.

when a guy goes to the bank and pays more attention to the dimes than the dames, well that's the definition of a true numismatist image

I got a peace dollar at a local bank a couple months ago, I will try to find it and post a picture. VF would be my guess... not positive but I think it was a 21 or 22.

All I did was ask if they had any oddball coins or dollar coins they wanted to get rid of. This teller said she was glad to get rid of it because it was taking up a slot in her cash drawer.
