No Way Out: Stimulus and Money Printing Are the Only Path Left
Proud recipient of two "You Suck" awards
Oh yeah, Happy Valentine's Day, Dear Bear!!
Box of 20
Trouble is I don't think many other collectors want these things either, which will make the mintages microscopic. Speculators can have a ball, but so far as I'm concerned this series.
Modern Crap purchased today=jelly doughnuts daily during retirement!

There were opportunities for low mintage and the possibility
of high return. Those hypes turned out very well, for those who
took advantage of the opportunities. Here at the beginning of the year,
We have not seen any sure fire bets, at least at this time. I am afraid you
are trying to compare apples and pears. Different, time, different items, different
mintage runs. There was not a single hype in 06 that was not a money maker. This
Forum, is really the cats whiskers.
Camelot
You feel because the mint is not producing anything low in mintage right now that there are no opportunities....
argue with you, because every person is entitled to
their own opinion and I respect that. Best of luck to you, what ever you
decide to do.

How are we supposed to afford the later year purchases if we don't flip the early year items?

Your handle aptly describes .... USMINT 2007 vs 2006 ..this is going to be a bear year for Mint products ..patience
<< <i>I'm looking at the first ladies. I hear what the wise old bear is saying, however I am willing to roll the dice on this one. If nothing else, it will start me in gold bullion. And I think this is a good thing? >>
I agree. It's a companion series to the Presidential Dollars, and...it's gold bullion.
Presuming the price is at above-melt no greater than their other bullion, I don't see the downside to picking up the spouse medal as the prez coins come out.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
The devil is in the details. Always.
Educate yourself even with regards to modern crap.
Sometimes you get lucky, more often knowing what you are doing pays off better.
Listen to what Bear is saying. Don't overindulge in something you haven't studied carefully.
Keep an eye out for what is happening and give consideration to opinions of posters on this board.
Not everyone is correct, nor will they ever be. You can glean enough information from here to make an intelligent decision or at least one you may not live to regret.
The end.

Wise Bear.......
<< <i>argue... ? not looking to argue... just curious about the whole modern thing >>
You would be most wise to listen to Bear's advice. I have a feeling that 2007 is going to be a bad year for some people who think of the Mint as King Midas, and buy everything and anything.
If you don't have the gut to handle the ups and downs of the market, if your not ready to lose $1000 or make $1000. Don't get in the game.
