I've been trying to locate/confirm this deal on the PayPal home page but can't find anything. Has anyone else been able to?
    When in doubt, don't.

Thank you! Speaking of which, did anyone have the December 2006 $20 paypal rebate credited to their account yet? Mine hasn't arrived yet.

Not yet, until I do, I won't sign up at a "blind" link. Seems harmless, but who knows...

I was not able to google it either "paypal promotion 2007", but maybe the search engine hasn't updated yet.
  • No, I never got mine either.

Isn't this the same domain that the previous $20 rebate came from? If so, it sounds like people have reported receiving the rebate. Any confirmation?

My question is, How did you find that promotion.

It's nowhere to be found from the home page.image
  • theumptheump Posts: 634 ✭✭
Here is how to find the offer via the homepage.

    Goto:

    www.paypal.com

Click on the upper right hand sign the box that has the flower in it. ($100 million dollar promotion)

Once the new page loads in click on the hyperlink that says "shopping site"

On the top see where it says "$15 cash rebate" Click on that link and walla....
  • Dave99BDave99B Posts: 8,708 ✭✭✭✭✭
Has anyone actually done this? Does it work? i.e. are we sure it's not a scam?

Also, how come when I go to the PayPal site directly, I see no mention of this promo? Maybe I'm just paranoid?

Like some other folks I had to log out and log back in to see the icon "$100 Million promotion." It has something to do with the cache or cookies or whatever.

    Thanks.

Personal Accounts,eBay payments made to Personal Accounts, .I bought from an

individual,I wonder if it has to be from a website only?

Has anyone registered yet? I am a little leary about this as the link you provided is not a secure link. Your link is http://paypal.com not the secure https://paypal.com. paypal always deals with secure links.
I would be careful with all the scammers out there today.
  • ricky, what email? its a link on the homepage.

I sent a note to the PayPal team, it appears their people are about like the mint in giving out the proper information to clientsimage I posted both links on my thread. Looks like it's a false alarm, nothing to see hereimage

    yes, i received mine.
one crucial part of this is that the seller has to be registered for a paypal business account. which means they have the type of account that will accept credit cards.
doesn't mean you have to use your credit card to pay........just that they accept them.

you make the purchase and then after paypal evaluates the transaction they will credit your account.

they arent asking for anything else, or to sign in

I noticed that also. In addition, I can't find anything on https://paypal.com about it.

It may be a way to harvest PayPal email accounts for further fraud activity. You know the type, We need to verify your account information, please follow the link and sign in to your PayPal account.

Didn't work for me. This is what I got:

We're sorry. The email address you provided does not qualify for this special cash rebate offer. If you did not receive an email invitation for this offer directly from PayPal, you are not eligible to participate.

I did receive teh $20 rebate last time. It sounds like this only works if you get an email from PayPal. They are probably tying to give an incentive to those who don't use PayPal often. Just guessing.
  • greghansengreghansen Posts: 4,301 ✭✭✭
Didn't work for me either. I got the same message about not being eligible. Guess I spend enough money with them that they don't figure they need to give me an incentive.image

Yup, I got the same response:

"We're sorry. The email address you provided does not qualify for this special cash-rebate offer."

"If you did not receive an email invitation for this offer directly from PayPal, you are not eligible to participate. "

Maybe that is why I can't see it on the PayPal site.

I wish they would go back to coupons!!!!!!
