Now there is another but I'm trying to get clearance from the generous forum member that cave it to me if it's cool that I destroy one of his gifts.

Damn, wish I had an ACG slab in the house
I wonder if I could cook one through without destroying the slab.

Why thank you Joe

<< <i>A Kennedy Half Dollar would be morbidly in order. Wish I knew I would have sent you one to shoot a hole in it. If you can see yourself clear of one I would be happy to pay you outright or replace it, and pay your postage... >>
To add to the morbid topic... Can anyone tell me which side of the head he took the round?
But I'm sure gonna try
Ray
<< <i>BTW I'm going to have limited opportunity to do this, so the plywood idea (Though a good one) probably will not happen. I'll see what I can do, I plan on getting some pictures too
But I'm sure gonna try

I think i'll look for a few ACG slabs on ebay and go out to our local range to see if i can 'plug' one dead center
I'll see what I can do on the 3rd world slab front. You can compare the 5.56 to an upcoming 7.62 experiment.

He took the shot from the front....grassy knoll, don't you know!!
Just set that JFK, AH of course, out at 800-1000 meters. Oh yeah, you have to hit it 3 times in 5 seconds.
I'll have pictures

Thanks, I'll see if I have a silver one in the house, this should splash better, the clad just kind of makes a hole...where's the solid metals tend to melt and splash (See my avitar)

Come on get a real gun.
I shot a hole in a Kennedy half with my 338 Win Mag and caught all kinds of crap. Watch out for the PC's.

Kennedy took the second shot in the Right upper/lateral posterior head. Parietal, for the medical people.
The first shot was through His neck...

Right side. The Texas School Book Depository was behind and to the right, and the Grassy Knoll was ahead and to the right.
<< <i>When I was a DM ... 20 years ago (god I'm getting old) ... we used .50 cals. Try squeezing one of those rounds off through a quarter in a stiff breeze at 1000 yards. I still have my gilley in a box up in the attic and drag it out for Halloween every now and then
Did you need a detector to find the quarter?
Maybe I'll try shooting a clad Kennedy half with 7.62x39 steel core from my SKS. That should have a clean hole.

<< <i>Something like a 338 Lapua Mag >>
I thought the Lapua [pronounced lap-wah] was a bullet; specifically one that was oversize like a .309 instead for the .30 caliber. They were introduced by Speer and I believe they had a unique boattail design as well.
<< <i>Did you need a detector to find the quarter? >>
No, a mining pan
<< <i>Oh, and I believe this range will zero at 25 meters... or is it 50 meters....
I'll have pictures
That's a short distance....a nice modern clad quarter will do..

If Modern Crap is as good to me in '07 as it was in '06, I'll have an M-4 this year. What make is yours?
btw, here's what a .357 round does to a Washie...
<< <i>I did that once as a youngster and had the nickel(shot with a 22 cal. rifle)come flying back past my face about a hundred miles an hour,so be careful.
I took a stack of nickels and shot them with a 357 mag, it creates great impressions on the coins in the stack.
