You are not the only one. I check when I go into the grocery store. In the past I have gotten some Canadian in the Noreast, and lots of Mexican when I was in San Diego.

    Good place to check

Coinstar rejects US 90% silver? I didn't know that. Cool finds!

I have found a 1925 Silver "five Centavos" and a $2 Euro coin among other things. I once heard a guy dumping loads of silver coins inside one. Too bad it was too late for me to stop himimage

I had a pretty huge CoinStar haul a couple days ago. Apparently, the guy didn't realize that a bunch of his coins went into the reject slot. He was long gone by the time I got there, but there was $7.62 in change left over. If I knew who it was, I would've returned it, but finders keepers...

No silver, though. The only interesting coin was an Austrian 2 eurocent.

What the hell!? A "rejection slot"? You mean all I have to do is find this on the machine?

I've look at them before and I never knew of this little treasure hunt.

    Thanks for the info!

I have a half jar of various tokens, foreign coins, mutilated coins, elongated cents and normal coins that I have rescued from the coinstar reject chutes. I have found just 1 silver Roosevelt and no other Silver coins though.

    Finally struck silver!

After maybe half a dozen "finds", I finally got a 1963 dime! image

    And a plastic button.image
