I thought michael moved to Bahrain, and the Neverland zoo and amusement park were closed.

He didn't go on boycot. He threatened to boycot and was banned that night. He cannot login to PCGS and if you try to login under his user name you will see that he is not authorized to use the forum, which is the verbiage PCGS uses to tell you that you are banned.

As a personal friend of Michael, I can assure you that he is still very active, and won't be returning to the C.U. boards. To those of you who have made inferences about his character by reacting to some of his previous comments here, I say shame on you. Michael is a prodigy when it comes to numismatics wether you care to believe it or not. He has forgotten more than most of us will ever know in a lifetime with regard to numismatics, and his book should not be judged by the cover. It is the proper time for many of you here to understand that Michael has a medical history which has made it a blunt reality for him that he is living on borrowed time. I would expect that there will be a certain element here that will flame me for taking this stand...my only response: Do not judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes. Michael was banned from here- not boycotting. That is an issue that will remain confidential to Michael and C.U., and that will never change.

  • Its a real shame that a lot of the classy, knowledgeable posters are no longer here. (and apparently wont/cant come back)
  • I wish the best for michael. I like that guy. He taught me many things about classic proof coins.

I agree 100%. Michael is a numismatic genius. He knows more about numismatics than anyone I have ever met in over a half century of collecting. He is also a great human being and humanitarian. This forum is greatly diminished by his banishment.

I also was, and still am a good friend of michael's, if he was banned, and I know nothing about it, it is our loss without a doubt.

To say the least, "michael" is an extraordinary character. I know him fairly well and can tell you that his numismatic knowledge is enormous. He eats, breathes, and lives for coins.

    Well stated Dan.

I also consider myself a close personal friend of Michael. Many consider him to be brash or even ignorant, but most of what he writes comes from personal experience. Experiences that he not wishes unto others. While a comparison to Galileo may be extreme, just remember he was also ostracized.

Michael and Mark Feld should be invited back to join this community. However, with their high integrity, I do not think they would accept.

I sent him an email yesterday after I replied to this post. Didn't come back undeliverable yet so hopefully he responds. I bought a whole page of 2x2's of some sterling english coins once and he sent me a couple of religous sterling pieces (real nice ones). I thought he might be hurting for money so I padded his payment a little image He's a good man, and I hope to hear form him....

Michael and Feldolini, are Numismatic assets that have been

sorely missed and will continue to be missed, on this Forum.

We can only hope that reason will eventually prevail.

This banned thing, Laura got banned or suspended, michael got banned. For years I just lurked here for years cursory readings of topics. Seems I missed a lot. I don't need to know what they did, Laura is back and she is fun, but just an observation seems you have to really go far in your effusive behavior in order to get "banned" I mean really, I see some stuff here that I often wonder about. I don't mean you guys are anything, but good for the hobby and fun to read. What the heck a flame war now and then? So what? We all come around to common ground anyway. Well, I don't know why I wrote this except to say what gets people booted? Obscenity? Disagreement with management? Too much off topic? Just wondered. Regards, Michael of 410a.

I had a couple of nice conversations with Michael over the past couple of weeks regarding some very esoteric numismatic subjects. He really does know his stuff and seems to have a photographic memory with certain coin subjects. I was impressed. He did confirm that he was banned. He is a good guy and he should sign back into CU with a new handle.

Michael will still be michael under any other name. :þ How can you ever edit his "my oh my's"?

And this is a wonderful thing! Mike has definitely been my mentor over the past 4 years. I owe him more than just friendship.

Mike is like a roastbeef sandwich in a vending machine: All the meat is piled and displayed in the middle with just bread all around. So, once you trim away the excess, there is a big ol' hunk of meaty substance right there ready to be bitten into!

Like the analogy, Mike? image So, once you wade through all of his analogies and bowel stories then there is a whole lot of substance there.

Nothing but love for you michael!

He has a ton of knowledge. I asked him a question once through a PM, and I got a several page reply with as much meaty substance as any coin book.

hey I wasn't slamming him, he's a good guy and I pm'd with him here and there, to my numismatic betterment !

it just sucks all the good posters are leaving never to return and we have to be subjected to thread after thread about flipping and AT'd freak-coins in exchange.

    ah well.

I probably learned more from "sincerely michael" than anyone else on this forum. He used to send me all his auction catalogs. What a terrific guy.

    Cheers,

    Bob
  • Good ole Michael........ I really couldn't say enough about his numismatic knowledge. He lives and breaths this stuff and is most willing to share. If anyone really knows him on personal level, they know what kind of genuine person his is. I say no more. I think Michaels biggest downfall is he is boldly and I mean BOLDLY honest. Unfortunately, allot folks just don't want to hear the truth. Hence, him being exiled.... Oh well, he will be missed.... I understand he has migrated over to NGC... I think I will go drop him a line....
  • BRdudeBRdude Posts: 1,079 ✭✭✭
I recieved a reply to my email today, and he is still live and kicken, although at ngc which most folks already know. Says he isn't sure why he got banned, and pcgs isn't answering his mail requests to tell him!! That blows. What is it with pcgs?? Can't stand the heat???? With some of the bravo-sierra that goes on here, I can't imagine what he could have said that deserved this....PCGS ought to "reslab" their policies....JMHO
