Here are my pics now that I have the coin. Tried to get different lighting. Russ was spot on...I think I will send this back, would it even make cameo?
looks a little different then the sellers pics eh?........
Tbar, A 1958 PCGS PR-66Cameo just sold for $69.00 on Heritage Auctions. Why not buy something like that instead of buying raw coins your not sure about the grade and designation?

Yes...well, that does seem to be the logical approach doesn't it? Being inexperienced, I didn't realize pictures could show such drastic contrast difference. My bad,... live and learn.....I am not affraid to return things.
I will say, after looking at alot of 66 and 67 on Heritage...this coin in hand looks like it could be 67. It has 3 or 4 small milk spots but other than that is very very clean. I see 67s on Heritage with as many or more spots. And I do not see any scratches at all on this coin. So...really I am not totally sure I am going to return it. I think I will sleep on it...and take another look at it tomorrow.

<< <i>No, it doesn't. It will not be nearly as strong in-hand. I've bought from this seller before.

a dark piece of paper is held over the coin. This make the reflective fields look very dark and the cameo very strong, when in reality, it is not.
His picture sure looks frosty.........
<< <i>What are the odds the coin is still worth what I paid? >>
It will be cameo. So, it it grades PR66 or better you did okay.

Coin Would Grade Super High if Not for 2 Barely Discernable Hairlines on The Reverse. <<<
Don't think that it will make PR66 from that description.

At least you have a return privilege.
Examine the coin when you receive it and look at the contrast and for any hairlines. If it's not what you want, return it.
I also think that it is possible the coin came from here.
On raw cameo coins like this one, I have to wonder why they aren't already in a holder.

If that description is accurate, as in only two and "barely discernable", it would have no trouble grading PR66.

So I guess it sounds like a good chance I will be sending it back.
I guess I just don't know what to look for with that "photography trick"....I must admit, I don't normally shop for cameos.

You have to be careful making grading assessments by comparing to already grading coins. Many proofs develop spotting after they are holdered.
