37D Buffalo, please comment

I would welcome your comments on both the grade and the photos. They were taken at about a 3 inch distance with 5.1 megapixels, macro, autofocus in daylight. I'm still trying to learn this coin photo process, and am interested in your assessment of the grade of the coin ( which I'm also trying to learn ).

Images are a little bit dark, but the focus is good.

The coin looks 65 or 66.

AU58... but the huge picture may be working against a better grade... Cheers, RickO

    Shamika and Ricko,

Thanks so much for your responses. I neglected to mention that this coin is in a Capitol plastic holder which doesn't help the clarity either. It was graded 65+ locally, where I bought it. It looks every bit of that in hand, but it's difficult to get it to show in a pic...?

Try throwing the majority of the light from above the coin rather than below. It illuminates the features in a more familiar way.

    gyocomgd,

Thanks. I took those on a stack of books next to a sliding glass door, to get good natural daylight. It took me so long to get a decent shot that the light was fading toward sunset. Related question, I've ordered an inexpensive copy stand ( $70 ) and will be looking for lighting to use with it. Any suggestions?
